How wide are the stadium seats?

The measurement of the stadium seats determines the comfort of the users. Since there are no specific seats for short or tall individual or fat and slim individual, all the seats are made of standard sizes which accommodate everyone.

But before the sizes of the seats are determined, there are factors in place which aid in determining the suitability of a particular size. Therefore to understand the various sizes of the seats, we will go through these factors to understand why a particular size was chosen and not the other.

  • The dress codes

Different dressing codes require different seating styles. Therefore, this affects most of the seat style and sizes. This is because, while seating, the clothes usually occupies part of the seats. For instance, hosting an official ceremony with gowns and tuxedos, the ordinary 18” will not be convenient enough. In this case, a 21” to 23” seat will provide enough space and comfort

  • Type of seats

The general seats which occupy everyone fall under the category of 18”. This is because they are designed to save space in order for the venue to have a higher carrying capacity. Therefore, they have limited accessories and comfort.

But the seats in the VIP section as the name states are meant for luxury and comfort. Thus they are incorporated with various accessories and comfort features that consume lots of space. Also, the designs are made to be large enough to offer comfort and VIP experience.

  • Seating capacity

To create a balance when conserving space, the seats are made in such a way that they favor one factor and limit the other. For example, the seating capacities are made larger with the width of the seats being reduced. This ensures for personal space and also conserves the venues space for a larger carrying capacity of the seats.

  • Arrangement of the seats

Parallel seats have bigger width than arch-shaped or any other odd shape arrangement of seats. This is because the parallel shape allows for maximum utilization of the seating area, but in odd arrangements, the seats have to fit certain arrangement pattern which may consume the width in order to accommodate the style.

  • Legroom

This is one part that is given less attention, to accommodate different leg sizes, the chairs have been given more width which takes up much of the legroom. Therefore, most of the ordinary seats are compost of 19” and 20” which is the standard size that supports any size of legs.
